New book released. It’s a companion to the first one. This one has more action than I usually write. (Fight scenes? Oh crap.) The short eBook (about 70 pages) is selling for less than a dollar on Smashwords and Amazon.

It is terrifying. I wish you luck! Also, I hope you have a good support system. It really helps with some of the terror if you have people you can trust.

In Ruin, there is a constant threat from this— power given to people who have no status.

The world is in anarchy, but there is a structure to it. Children of experiments (the humans who had once been in the Labs) automatically have more power (even if they don’t have a power), especially once they become a member of their parent’s tribe.

It’s mentioned by a few characters that the younger tribe members have more to prove than the established members. They can fight, or are at least not unfamiliar with fighting. But within the tribe, they often have no status because they are unproven.

So when they run across someone seen as even lesser than themselves (like a stray human or two roaming the Wildlands), it is very likely that they will take the permission to fight and to hurt people to an extreme.

Second try at a print cover. I went for simplicity. The cover art should stand out on its own. That is exactly why I picked this artist. I wanted the cover to be one of those you start reaching for before you even realize you’re reaching for it.
I’ve ordered the proof, but there is no print version just yet. I want to be sure that it is absolutely perfect, and that I don’t rush the product out.
